BRIEF ON PROFESSION:
Mr. Khan is currently the Chairperson of Business Initiative Leading Development (BUILD) and Director of Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FBCCI). He was the President of Dhaka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) in 2010, 2017 and 2018. At present, he is also the Managing Director of A.K.Khan Telecom Ltd (AKTL), Board Director of A.K.Khan & Company LTD (AKK), Director, AK Khan Penfabric Ltd (AKPEN) and Member of the Executive Committee (EXCOM), CEAT AK Khan Ltd. He joined the family business in 1996 and was actively involved in setting up the group's mobile business under JV (TM International [BD]) Ltd) with Telekom Malaysia Behard.
BRIEF ON SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT:
BRIEF ON CONTRIBUTION OF YOU AND YOUR ORGANIZATION IN: As BUILD Chairperson, Mr. Khan is working with Private Sector Development Policy Coordination Committee (PSDPCC), headed by the Principal Secretary at the Prime Minister's Office (PMO). During his tenure BUILD and Prime Minister's Office have jointly formed Logistics Infrastructure Development Working Committee (LIDWC) - a dedicated thematic PPD committee headed by the Secretary, PMO. This committee is focused on the development of logistics infrastructure in Bangladesh. As the Chairperson of BUILD, Mr. Khan initiated and established 4IR and ICT Working Committee with Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA) for promoting policy reform for facilitating and maximizing benefits from the 4IR and ICT.
During his tenure as President of DCCI in the year 2010, DCCI was awarded 'The best large chamber award' by Confederation of Asia Pacific Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CACCI) in 2010. He also initiated the 'Tax Card' concept - a pioneering tax benefit system - the proposal was accepted and implemented by the government and annually tax payers are awarded the Tax Cards. Also, during his tenure in the year 2010, DCCI organized Bangladesh 2030: Strategy for Growth, an international conference inaugurated by H.E Sheikh Hasina, Hon'ble Prime Minister. DCCI in the conference projected that Bangladesh will become the 30th largest economy by the year 2030. In 2018, during his tenure as DCCI President, DCCI celebrated 60th anniversary and organized an international conference titled Destination Bangladesh, the conference was inaugurated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister.

'Bangladesh is at a critical juncture of its economic development momentum and now the need for the development of an efficient transport eco-system is a mandatory pre-condition for Bangladesh to accelerate its growth trajectory. We need extensive focus on the development of logistics eco-system for improved connectivity for sustaining growth and prosperity. Today, Bangladesh's economic growth demands improved logistics and infrastructure for increased competitiveness. I strongly believe that a world class logistics infrastructure will act as a critical enabler to change the economic landscape of Bangladesh'.
