Selma Rasavac-Avdagic, a Bosnian national, joined IFC in 2004 and since then held various advisory and IFC country management positions across regions and the World Bank Group.

Most recently, she was a Senior Operations Officer in CMA team in the Middle East North Africa region where she led pipeline development and portfolio management in Levant countries. In addition, she led strategic IFC initiatives for MENA such as the Prospects Partnership, a multimillion-dollar partnership with Netherlands and UN agencies, ILO and the WB through which IFC is deploying advisory and investment instruments to facilitate prospects for underserved communities in MENA.

Prior to joining MENA, Selma was part of a joint IFC/WB Global Practice team in Istanbul where she led the design and oversight of a range of IFC/WB industry specific regulatory reform projects across a range of regions and before that was IFC's Country Officer for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Before joining IFC, Selma was an Economic Advisor for Business Environment at the Office of the High Representative in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Selma holds a Master's Degree in International Relations from University of Sarajevo/La Sapienza University and Bachelors of Science Degree in International Business from Elizabethtown College, USA.
